Aphrodite is presented in a limited series of Collectors' portraits. Each piece bears witness to a metamorphosis, offering an emotional vision of this timeless icon. Rachel Convers' Les états d'âmes d'Aphrodite is divided into three sections: Nostalgia, Renaissance and Reverie.

A Sculptural Metamorphosis

The starting point for each painting is the sculpture of Aphrodite. It stands like an imposing stele, taking on a monumental dimension, like the divinities themselves.

The raw materiality of the stone shines through, with its chiselling marks and carvings bearing witness to a journey through the centuries. The eroded chin and altered nose bear witness to the inexorable effects of time.

A Work Shaped By Dualities

From the outset, the viewer is struck by the subtle duality between the frozen immobility of the sculpture and the captured vitality, where emotion is expressed through an ephemeral, fleeting state. The temporalities of stone and emotion are in opposition, creating a dichotomy between the permanent and the ephemeral. ​

Daughter of sky and sea, Aphrodite emerges from the foam like a fleeting dream. Her skin retains the whiteness of the waves, carrying the imprint of a celestial and marine past.

She appears at the edge of the waves, eyes closed, suspended between the silence of stone and the delicacy of memory. A poppy flower adorns her hair, its petals gently drifting away, carried by the wind. Her thoughts, light as falling petals, scatter across the horizon, revealing the intimacy of her inner turmoil.

Produced in a limited edition, the portrait Aphrodite Rêverie is numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist Rachel Convers.

The image is printed directly onto a Dibond aluminum panel, a rigid and lightweight surface valued for its strength and resistance to moisture. A solid laminate frame reinforces the piece, ensuring long-lasting durability.

Each piece is thoughtfully designed, assembled, and finished by hand in our workshop in Fontain, France (25).

The portrait Aphrodite Rêverie is delivered ready to hang, complete with a discreet wall-mounting system. Its Dibond aluminum support ensures resistance to temperature changes and humidity, providing long-lasting durability.

Easy to maintain, a simple soft, dry cloth is enough to preserve the fine details.
