ibride, a family story

ibride was born in 1996 when Carine Jannin, after completing her studies, was asked by her sister Rachel Convers and her brother-in-law Benoît Convers, both professors of graphics and design in higher education, to explore the potential of an object they had just designed.

Described by Rachel Convers as the fruit of "a desire to do things", this first object led to the birth of this complementary family trio, the nucleus of the contemporary object and furniture publishing house that is ibride.

Available in 12 colorful graphic versions, this frame is defined by Rachel Convers as having almost all the parameters of what ibride still creates https://today.to/ market this object, Carine Jannin travels across France in search of points of sale. It was her participation in the Maison & Objets fair in January 1997 that gave ibride a real boost. At the same time, ibride won the competition of the 3 Suisses Foundation, which wanted to contribute to the development of innovative concepts, and thus acquired premises in Paris for a period of 18 months.

An innovation in the world of design 

These two elements will push the young design house to release new creations with the line of thought of innovation through emotion, whose goal is to strengthen the link between a user and the objects that surround him.

In 2001, ibride designs a first light for Habitat. It will be a best-seller, as well as a series of mugs and a dinner service developed in the following years. In total, ibride made about 15 products for Habitat, a decisive step in its history

In addition to its work for Habitat, ibride also collaborated with Kenzo, enabling it to grow. But as it moved away from its role as manufacturer and design editor, ibride ended up becoming a design studio. In 2004, the team reacted by launching a new drive to return to editing and complete creative freedom. The years that followed were synonymous with flight and independence.

Les fondamentaux du Mobilier de Compagnie, de la Galerie de Portraits et des Faux-Semblants sont posés. 2005 et 2006 sont des accélérateurs de notoriété pour ibride : Diva fait la première de couverture d'un magazine de tendances et le designer Bruno Rinaldi prête une partie de sa galerie à ibride pour une exposition durant la design week de Milan.

In 2011, the team expands and moves to Fontain, in a former carpentry.ibride realizes that innovation is a vector of freedom and invests in a production tool in 2013 to become a manufacturer. The company includes in this new organization the local suppliers and subcontractors with whom it has worked since the beginning. This new mode of operation gives ibride the opportunity to focus on the hotel and restaurant market, being able to carry out custom projects.

Present todayaujourd'hui in more than 50 countries, the brand has made its universe known and recognised throughout the world.
